These are some of the corporations and universities that have supported our efforts in reflection seismic at the Department of Planetary Science at the University of Pittsburgh.

    • WesternGeco L.L.C. and Mr. Jim Swearingen kindly donated a I/O System II, OYO GS20 DX geophone based 1000+ channel recording system to the Department of Geology and Planetary Science at the University of Pittsburgh.  The value of this system is approximately $1 million.
    • The kindness and support of GX Technology (an ION GMG Products Division) for allowing students to use MESA Expert and GMG Image is gratefully acknowledged. Input/Output, Inc., have allowed us to discuss in detail all I/O related portions of the donation.
    • Harvey-Lynch, Inc., will be contracted to do a detailed pre-survey analysis of the hardware and will provide an experienced field engineer for the seismic surveys.
    • Landmark has generously donated software for UNIX and LINUX based seismic processing and visualization.
    • Seismic Micro Technologies has generously donated software for Windows based seismic processing and visualization.
    • The Stanford Exploration Project of Stanford University has generously allowed us to use their SEPLIB UNIX and LINUX based seismic processing and visualization software.
    • The Department of Geophysics, Colorado School of Mines has generously allowed us to use their Seismic UNIX for seismic processing and visualization.
    • The Water and Energy Team of the National Energy Technology Laboratory of the United States Department of Energy is a collaborator in this effort to acquire and use digital seismic imaging.  The Pittsburgh NETL/DOE has allowed us to store much of this equipment at their site.  GeoMechanics Inc., has generously supported our efforts with respect to this system.
