Introduction

This lab is designed to expand your understanding of the concepts and the organisms we discuss in lecture. It emphasizes discussion and hands-on experience. There is a web site and a reading assignment associated with each lab, and I will expect you to have reviewed them beforehand. This way we can keep lecturing to a minimum and spend our time with the specimens.

Assignments and Grading

Lab assignments are due at the beginning of the following lab period. Late assignments are penalized as follows: 1 week late, -10%; 2 weeks late, -20%; 3 or more weeks late, no credit. If there are any problems with turining assignments in on time, please let me know before the due date.
Lab grading: lab assignments, 80%; lab midterm, 10%; lab final, 10%. lab grades will consider completion, effort, and neatness as well as correct answers.
All lab assignments must be done in pencil! It may seem like I'm getting picky, but a sketch that is half pen smudges and half white out is impossible to decipher (and gets no credit)!
